We rely heavily on the support of the public and the business sector for our funding. Without your generosity, the Charity would not be able to continue its vital work within the community.
While we do not have a dedicated fundraising committee, we actively support and encourage our fundraisers by providing advice and practical assistance, including buckets, T-shirts, and printed materials where appropriate.
The Centre is vigilant, accountable, and transparent in the management of all funds received. We are committed to achieving value for money at all times and, whenever possible, seek sponsorship to help offset associated fundraising costs.
Banners, flyers, brochures, and postage all incur unavoidable expenses, and we remain diligent in our efforts to keep these costs to a minimum.
Each year the demand for the Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre services continues to grow and in order to meet these needs it is important that we have sufficient funds to help us provide and deliver our classes, workshops cancer survivorship programmes, complementary therapies and counselling services. The Centre has a core group of approximately 25 volunteers who generously give their time, either in the morning or afternoon. Our volunteers provide a warm and welcoming meet-and-greet service, offer tea and refreshments to visitors and clients, and ensure that everyone feels comfortable. Each volunteer completes an approved training programme and an induction period to help them carry out their role effectively. They are an essential part of the day-to-day running of the Centre, and we could not continue without their support.
The Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre supported in excess of 12,000 client visits in 2025.
